This is my custom VHS cover art for the 1989 slasher cult classic, 'Intruder,' commissioned by Retro Release Video. I was overjoyed to have the opportunity to work on this project, particularly for a film that holds a special place in my heart as one of my all-time favorite slasher films.
'Intruder' is a hidden gem in the slasher genre, however, one common issue with previous cover art for the film was that it often reveals the identity of the killer. My goal was to create a visually striking and suspenseful VHS cover that captured the style of the film without giving away this crucial reveal. For my design, I chose to focus on the character of Jennifer, the film's central figure, and keep the killer's identity shrouded in secrecy and out of frame giving it some intrigue.
