This is art I painted featured on vinyl soundtrack of 1987 independent martial arts film "Miami Connection," commissioned by Enjoy the Ride Records. Throughout the entire design, I tried to mix a deliberate fusion of martial arts action, 1980s nostalgia, and the iconic Miami vibe.

 

For the front cover of the vinyl soundtrack, I featured a vibrant, neon-soaked depiction of Miami's iconic skyline at sunset while paying homage to its memorable characters. With it being a vinyl soundtrack it only made to sense to feature the movie's fictional band Dragon Sound rocking the stage, bathed in colorful stage lights. 

 

"Miami Connection" is a prime example of a so-bad-it's-good cult classic. So it's always fun to revisit films like this and create art for them. I was delighted when I was hired for this project it was tons of fun.
